Meet Kathleen Dolan
"Representing residents' needs and ensuring everyone has a voice in how New Providence embraces changing times while still retaining our small-town feel is important to me."
Kathleen Dolan's path to becoming a New Providence Borough Council candidate has been defined by community service and leadership. She is a past president of New Providence Soccer Club and served as secretary of the New Providence Athletic Foundation, which raised funds to install the turf and lights at Lieder Field. Kathleen is also a gun violence prevention advocate with the Union County Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. Known as a strong leader who gets things done through hard work, relationship building and collaboration, Kathleen is ready to apply these skills to benefit New Providence as a
member of Borough Council. She campaigned for a Council position last year and lost by a very slight margin, but she is undaunted and eager to win this year.
Family
Kathleen and her husband, Ted Pellas, have called New Providence home for more than 30 years, engaged in successful careers in pharmaceutical research and development (R&D). As it is for so many in our community, the highly rated New Providence School District was a primary factor driving their decision to put down roots here.
Their children-Caitlin, Alex and Conor Pellas-attended NP public schools and graduated from NPHS.
Education
Kathleen has a B.S. in Microbiology and an MBA from Penn State, is a certified Project Management Professional, and has recently retired after a 38-year career in Pharmaceutical R&D.
